Myanmar Domestic Flights
The poor state of Myanmar’s roads and railways make flying by far the most comfortable option of traveling long distances. Do avoid the state run Myanmar Airways (different from Myanmar Airways International) due to its poor safety records. While the three privately owned airlines – Air Bagan , Air Mandalay & Yangon Airways are relatively more expensive, they are by far the safer option, and will cover most tourist destinations.
In Yangon, for domestic flights, use the OLD Yangon airport (the new one serves only International flights), it is located about 200m further on the road than the new Yangon International Airport building.
